"The Source of Health is Inner Harmony"

Paracelsus    MD, Alchemist and Philosopher 1493-1541

Hana Lokahi means Create Harmony. Harmony is necessary for a community to live well and thrive. A community can be the members of a family or the individual parts of a body. The energies that comprise our physical, mental and spiritual bodies, that communicate back and forth, are also a community. They signal to each other about whether harmony is intact or there is disharmony that requires our attention. Resolving a mental and/or spiritual issue will often result in the healing of a physical problem.  Thinking of your concerns from a holistic viewpoint can result in a complete healing, or can assist in identifying where to put your attention.

All the services offered at Hana Lokahi are focused on achieving that goal.

  • Hawaiian Elemental Healing uses the elemental qualities of Fire, Water, Air and Earth to create harmony in the whole body.

  • Reiki builds the energy flow through meridians, strengthens the hara center and creates a better energy flow to and from the body's emotional, mental, physical and spiritual fields.

  • Elemental Lomi stimulates and harmonizes Fire, Water, Air and Earth everywhere in and around the body.

Treatment sessions at Hana Lokahi are offered by licensed RN and Kahu O Mana Barbara U'ialoha Pa’a Petersen, also certified in several additional healing methods (see About page),

Living the Elemental Hawaiian Way

Many traditions use the power of prayer and call upon their "trusted guides", who can be Angels, Ascended Masters, Guardian Spirits or Totems. All religions and tribal cultures have their named "trusted guides."

Hawaiian Healing and Reiki are not religions. They do not follow any dogma. They embrace every religion and tribal spiritual belief system. When studying the ancient ways of different cultures, the similarities become apparent. One does not need to choose one or the other tradition to benefit from a treatment.

Living the Elemental Hawaiian Way involves invoking the Elements of Fire, Water, Air and Earth to assist in daily life.

You may already be doing this and don't appreciate it as such.

  • Do you recall saying things like "I need to light a fire under my butt" to get going today?"

  • When you think of needing to be relaxed and calmer, do you envision a calm river or the gentle waves of the ocean?

  • When you need to set boundaries with people who are into drama, do you say "make me steadfast today, to hold my own, in a difficult situation?

  • Do you sometimes find yourself "spacey, playful like a child, unable to focus?

The above examples of the benefit of the elements can be intentionally used to help you manage your day. Hawaiians used the Qualities of the Elements to guide their travels over the oceans, to assess interpersonal situations with each other among other things.  We can too, by calling upon the Elements and listening to their input regarding physical, emotional or spiritual concerns. Call them all in when meditating or simply contemplating your day, to gain understanding as you receive their messages.

Being able to call upon an element or a combination of elements at any time gives one the feeling of empowerment to know how to add to their resources at any time. Uʻialoha Paʻa lives this Hawaiian Elemental Way and would like to share its many values with you.
